Our blogger of the week is KIM!
She is looking lovely in her Black prom dress with an edgy style . Pairing it with shoe boots and gorgeous vintage hairdo and bag!
You can visit and read more of Kims blog here :
As soon as I saw the dress it reminded me of Mila Kunis’ campaign for Miss Dior handbags, it looks so classic but is also cute. I wanted to try to copy the styling – especially the sweet little bow in her hair. The dress is so perfectly on trend, the fit and flare shape is still such a key look and is perfect for the festive party season.
I’m a big fan of vintage and styled the look with a little vintage croc-skin clutch bag and a pair of black shoe boots that were a hand-me-down from a friend. For this winter I can’t wait to get wrapped up in embellished coats like a Tsarina. The catwalks were full of gorgeous brocade and furs, which are perfect for keeping warm too. Think Anna Karenina.
Blogging seemed so natural to me, I love to write and share my experiences of the places I’ve been and the things I’ve seen. I’m also obsessed with taking photos, although I don’t claim to be the greatest photographer in the world! I don’t just solely focus on fashion, art and culture are just as important to me. Checking other people’s blogs can be such a great tool to find out what’s new and emerging before the big publication have a chance to print them

We love catching up and chatting about style and trends, so when styling advice site Dress Me Daisy approached us for our styling tips on how to wear 40′s and 50′s inspired trends we jumped at the chance to share our thoughts!
Dress Me Daisy offer styling advice for real women on how to wear trends and wardrobe update ideas and try not to be unrealistic about what real women will wear and can afford. We admire this refreshing approach to fashion and we share many of their ideals, for example, apart from the stunning Ellie Paige, who won our Model of The Year competition, our models are real girls who actually work in our office so we know that what we design will suit the girl on the high street looking for something edgy yet feminine.
40′s and 50′s styles are a huge inspiration for us and they were also all over the A/W 2011 and S/S 2012 catwalks, from gorgeous hourglass silhouettes, nipped-in waists and fabulous full skirts from Betsey Johnson and Prada, to David Koma and Louis Vuitton…

As you may know, we ran an amazing competition recently for one lucky winner to receive two tickets to attend Vodafone London Fashion Weekend and report back to us from the A/W 2011 trend catwalk with what’s hot for this season! Kim Long was our winner and here is her report complete with catwalk photos!…

Winter may well be on its way, but rather than worrying about dark mornings and rainy days, it’s time to start planning your new season wardrobe.
Showcasing the best new designs that we’ll all be begging to have in our wardrobes over the coming months, London Fashion Weekend pulled together the key looks of the season, with sharp lines and jewel colours dominating the collections.
Kick starting the show was Jaeger London with a selection of gorgeous English heritage designs with lush autumnal shades bringing a burst of burnt orange and fuchsia pink to catwalk.

Textures were a huge trend for the brand, with chunky oversized knitted jackets that look like they had been pulled straight from your granddads wardrobe teaming with the vivid shades for snuggly and stylish looks. Wide ribbon belts brought definition and femininity.

Eveningwear took a futuristic turn with the arrival of Bryce Aime’s collection and the vibrant hues of Osman Yousefzada.
Slim-fitting silhouettes were seen in the jackets, trousers and skirts of Aime, using the tones of a silent movie in strips, stripes and bars around waists and down leggings.

A touch of sci-fi came with dresses with huge sculptured shoulders and jackets with high winged collars that contrasted the fragile fabric with its structured form providing the level of detail that demonstrates why Rihanna has become such a firm fan of the designer.

Long lines were a key feature of the Osman’s selection, with wide-legged trousers touching the floor and skirts coming in two lengths, either completely covering the feet or falling just below the knee.

Sleek and chic were the key looks for the Rive Gauche catwalk. Taking inspiration for Yves Saint Laurent’s Le Smoking, the tailored trousers and fitted jackets were accessorised with tumbling necklaces and oversized sunglasses. Black ribbon was tied around the neck, bringing the timeless look up to date.

But the show was not just for the girls, as several men’s looks were paraded.
Dapper styles are definitely the order of the day for the autumn, with brown wide check suits taking the heritage trend through to men’s wear. Teamed with a matching waistcoat and dark grey shirt, the look combined bold colours with sophisticated lines.

The tuxedo was also brought up to date in a wet-look fabric and a pencil thin black tie. Winkle pickers and slicked down side parted hair brought designer dash.
This winter, keep sharp, think sleek and breeze through to the spring/summer season.
Thanks Kim! We hope you had a fantastic time and thank you for your indepth report + glam photos!
