Jones + jones Tamara Sequin Dress

Visit her blog here: http://candyflosscurlscupcakesandcouture.blogspot.co.uk

This dress is the perfect LBD investment! The sequins and net-trimmed petticoat make this dress really stand out in a crowd and is a definite head-turner! I also love the shape of this dress as it’s flattering for the majority (if not all body) shapes/sizes. It also features a pretty Peter Pan collar embellished with sequins which adds that extra sparkle, and saves you from splashing out on jewellery to fill in any space between the neckline of your dress.

What is your top styling tip for the AW season

Layering – I love layering in AW as not only is it warm but chic too! My favourite colour in AW has to be ‘oxblood’ – there’s something warm and rich about this colour!

How did you get into fashion blogging?

I was inspired by the pages of ELLE UK…I’ve always loved writing and anything fashion/beauty related so I wanted to find a way I could channel by creativity and share it with others who have the same interests. That’s when (2 years ago) I discovered blogging and so many other girls who were sharing their chic style and inspiring blogs on the internet. It was like reading fashion magazines online, with pretty layouts, interesting content and incredible senses of style – the difference? All of these girls were ‘real people’, who either studied or had full-time jobs, but yet all shared the same passion for fashion.

2 years later and I’ve a lovely following of readers/supporters and I’ve had so many amazing opportunities. Blogging is one of the best things that has ever happened to me!

What do you love about the dress?

I absolutely love this dress – the A-shape is great for my figure and I am loving the sequins and Peter Pan collar. It’s so girly, I feel like a Princess!

What is your top styling tip for AW2012?

This season, we will all be wrapped up in layers of jumpers and scarves so the best way to keep warm but stay fashionable and stand out from the crowd is with a bright oversized coat (look to Céline’s A/W 2012 collection for inspiration!) and a gorgeous statement necklace. I am loving statement necklaces lately – they really add that extra touch of glamour and instantly transform the most simple outfits

Why did you start your fashion blog?

I have always loved fashion and dressing up. I am finally following my dream and studying Fashion Styling at Istituto Marangoni in London. I am always learning more and more about fashion and I feel like my style is constantly evolving; my blog actually motivates me to be creative with all my outfits and I like to share that with people through my blog. Plus, it’s nice to look at other blogs, get ideas for inspiration and share fashion tips and opinions. The blogging community is wonderful – I have made many friends through my blog and it’s wonderful meeting people with the same interests as me.

MARIA !

Our blogger of the week maria styles her stunning Julia patchwork dress…

What do you love about the dress?

The dress is perfection. Firstly, it’s unusual in comparisons to the dresses that are being put on for the festive season. This has an elegant but girly rather than sensual edge to it. The 50s cut with the wide petticoat skirt makes for a tiny waist and skinnier and longer looking legs, so it adds height and reduces a few pounds. That’s a massive plus. The other aspect that I absolutely love is the simple, yet stunning top. No specific girly pattern of sequins, which I always find a bit too much, high closed neckline for lots of elegance, but then you see the back of the dress and it’s just like BOOM! You just don’t expect that at all with this dress and that’s what I love.

What is your top styling tip for the AW12 Season?

Winter is all about layering as always. No one wants to look twice their size, right? So I’d stock up on some cosy tights, biker boots (no good wearing pretty heels when the ground is all frozen and slippery), a cute pattern jumper and a furry coat. Sticking to maroon/oxblood/burgundy colours and black & gold is definitely a good idea this season!

What do you love about blogging and how long have you been blogging for?

I’ve been blogging for 2 years this month, actually! I’ve been absolutely loving it. Of course it’s sometimes a rollercoaster ride when people don’t comment or seem to like what I’m writing about – I do write with my readers in mind. I want them to find what I’m sharing interesting or provocative, etc. I’ve made some great friends along the way of blogging as well and I’ve found a community that I think gets me and my passions and my urge of oversharing a lot more than most of the people in my ‘real life’. That gives me a sense of belonging
